The Educational Development Unit

Design. Inspire. Build.

Since 2011 we have worked with staff across the University, and beyond, to provide inspiration and support to make the students experience of studying with the University of the Highlands and Islands the best it can be.

The EDU supports the epublication process by providing support for authors and technical services such as editing, design, production and distribution.

The EDU Team have a wide range of skills and experiences: digital resource development, animation, video production, instructional design, troubleshooting, leadership all underpinned with sound pedagogical knowledge and a passion to make the student experience the best it can be.

Our core work is to help staff design and build courses. That includes planning how learning technology will be used to allow students to collaborate and communicate, designing assessments that build learning and sourcing or developing engaging learning resources, assessments. Our aim is to ensure staff feel like they are supported and have the skills they need to continue the work we have started.
